UPH Festival 2021

Post Image Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) held a festival to welcome thousands of new students for the 2021/2022 academic year, which was held virtually on August 26-28 2021. 'Go Beyond' became the theme of the UPH Festival 2021 event as well as encouragement for new students to start a study journey with lecturers and the community at UPH.

UPH Chancellor, DR. (Hon.) Jonathan L. Parapak, M.Eng.Sc., warmly welcomes new students while ensuring that all students continue to follow health protocols and participate in a series of events enthusiastically without losing the essence of the UPH Festival. “UPH Festival is intended to introduce all of you, new students, to academic activities at UPH which are carried out holistically. We, the UPH community, are committed to 'go beyond' in teaching students the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in their careers. This is in line with UPH's mission to develop graduates who are able to devote their knowledge, become leaders, and citizens who serve God, and have a vision of transformation to build individuals and society," said the Rector to all new students.

In line with the direction of the Directorate General of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Dirjen Dikti Kemendikbudristek), during the Covid-19 pandemic, UPH held a virtual welcoming of new students with creative and interactive programs in order to build intimacy and participation of new students who are watching from their homes. UPH has prepared comprehensive and professional campus information to make it easier for new students to get to know and understand well the structure of the university and campus activities.

The series of UPH Festival 2021 programs, starting on August 26, 2021, where UPH Chancellor, DR. (Hon.) Jonathan L. Parapak, M.Eng.Sc., inaugurated all new students through a virtual procession witnessed by the deans. Followed by the introduction of service units and academic support, as well as a warm welcome and introduction from the heads of faculties and study programs.

On the second day, 27 August 2021, an introduction to the campus environment, the lecture system and student activities were introduced. Furthermore, students participated in the Distinguished Guest Speakers (DGS) webinar which presented the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Dr. H. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, B.BA., M.BA., and Deputy Minister of Trade, Dr. Jerry Sambuaga, also Deputy Head of Academic Affairs STIK – PTIK, Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Asep Adisaputra, S.H., S.I.K., M.H., M.Sc. The DGS webinar is held interactively to motivate and inspire, as well as increase awareness of the nation, state and love for the homeland for all new UPH students in various campuses, including Jakarta, Surabaya, and Medan.

The third day, August 28, 2021, was the last day of the UPH Festival filled with webinars and parents gathering.

The entire series of UPH Festival 2021 events are expected to prepare new UPH students and students who will enter the campus world, so that they have the spirit to develop themselves 'go beyond' to become visionary future leaders.
