Why Project Fencing Is Important

Post Image Why? There are many reasons. Putting up a fence around your building site, whether you are renovating or building a new home provides security and safety. It protects your site workers, prevent trespassers and intruders and keep your materials and equipment safe. It also adds harmony with your neighbours by keeping your surroundings clean and in good order.

TMD Building Rules and Regulations provides that property owners must have a temporary site fencing not only when they build a new house but for those structural renovation jobs in big-scale projects.

It is simply wise to do so and benefits you! It is an important matter of security.

Before you start full construction or renovation of your house, here are the guidelines for your project fencing:
1) A temporary fence must be built around the project site.
2) Maintain a height of 2.4 meters.
3) Paint green (color reference: Gloteks 499, Ftalit: Grass Green 115-125)

Place all project materials inside a container within your premises and inside the fence. Do not place the project materials or even the debris on the road side, on the street nor the green area/ verges. Building owners are required to maintain the cleanliness of its surroundings for the comfort of other residents living nearby.

Be considerate of your neighbours!

Please bear in mind that safety measures during the construction and inside the project site is the owner’s responsibility. It is necessary, therefore, to always keep the project material safe inside and lock the fence after work.

There are many property owners who have abided with the TMD building regulations and are keeping their project site clean with proper project fencing. We appreciate the cooperation of our owners who have extended their full support of the building guidance.

TMD are still finding many unfinished projects with fences that are already damaged or with paint that has faded over time. It appears that these building projects, renovation or new build, may have stopped and not completed by owners. TMD is reaching out to these owners to repair the fences and inform TMD of their plans for completing the project. Our Building Officers can guide you to ensure that your site is protected.
