Post Image To live in harmony with our neighbours, old and new, is key to a very pleasant living environment. By just being respectful and kind to one another goes a long way and lead to positive relationships.

Have you just moved into your new home? Getting to know the residents around you is important. Good neighbours are essential for support during tough times or emergencies, making us feel more secure within our communities.

This is also true when undertaking home improvement projects. Neighbours can either complain about renovation-related disruptions or exhibit patience and understanding.

Being a considerate neighbour includes adhering to building guidelines when renovating or constructing a new residence. Inform your neighbours about the project's duration and ensure their peace isn't disrupted. Maintaining a pleasant environment may be challenging, but when your neighbours see your efforts in keeping a tidy workspace and removing construction debris routinely, they're likely to be more accepting and considerate.

Having your contractor and their workers maintain a clean surrounding area is critical.

The TMD Building Control mandates that erecting fencing around the property during construction or significant renovations is the first step in ensuring minimal disturbance to neighbours. Refrain from littering or storing materials in public spaces or vacant lots.

Construction work hours are restricted from Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no work allowed on Sundays and public holidays. Workers should leave immediately after 5:00 PM and overnight stays are not permitted. Following these regulations helps promote harmony among neighbours.

By being considerate and respecting your neighbours' tranquillity at home, you foster good relations, making it more likely that they'll extend the same courtesy during your own home improvements.

Embrace community harmony, peace, and order. Be a thoughtful neighbour.
