Constructing a new home or doing a renovation whether minor or major, can be exhausting and tiring, but once the works are completed, it brings a sense of joy and accomplishment.
As the construction progresses, owners are reminded to always keep the surrounding area clean and in good order.
It is a small act to show care for your neighbours and it will surely go a long way when you finally move in and meet them.
We talk a lot about ‘keeping it clean’ because it matters!
Check where you throw the waste materials including where the dust or debris may go into. Do not let them fall into the storm water drains or end up in the sewers. Do not be the cause of water clogging up your drains and your neighbours’. This can result in flooding during a heavy downpour and potentially cause more problems.
Unfortunately, violation to building regulations still happens on site despite reminders as well as on-site inspections and warnings issued to construction site personnel and owners. BCD still sees construction waste and debris being dumped and left piled up at the verges or at the empty lot around the building site.
You may see this and we know how concerned you are when this happens in your neighbourhood.
So we are appealing to everyone that when it is your turn to do that ‘dream renovation project’ or building your ‘dream house’, make sure to follow the guidelines.
Here’s a short ‘how to’ list:
1) Place all project materials inside a container or bin within the owner’s lot, not on the road side, on the street nor the green area (verges). Build a green fence around the project area if you are doing a ‘new build’.
2) Remaining debris or materials should be put in a container or in a sack, and brought out of Lippo Village. Contact our Call Center at 021-55 777 557 if you need TMD’s assistance so we can arrange debris removal at a reasonable price.
3) Do not place your remaining debris or materials on an empty lot or at your neighbour’s lot. It’s a private area belonging to others. Please respect the right of your neighbours.
Construction activities can be messy but we can still manage the cleaning around the area if everyone follows the guidelines. Don’t let your project site look like an eyesore. Building or renovating is an exciting time and you can make it pleasant for everyone who passes by or sees your home coming up from the ground!
So, be wise and be considerate. Keep our environment clean and comfortable and most of all, enjoy a most pleasant living environment in Lippo Village!
