A power outage can happen suddenly and can cause many inconveniences at home.
TMD maintains a good cooperation with PLN. TMD is kept informed by PLN when they undertake routine panel maintenance at its power supply station and in turn, TMD informs residents by email/WhatsApp blast on the schedule and the time needed for the maintenance work to be completed. This way, residents are prepared on what to do when the power goes out for a pre-determined period.
Basically, electricity from small scale as network distribution, to large scale such as the installation of transmission lines or substation, should be able to operate continually without interruption. But often some disruptions cannot be avoided and can cause sudden power outage in your area.
In case of sudden power outages in Lippo Village residential area, TMD 911 Emergency personnel will immediately contact PLN to check and get information that can be passed on to residents. Repairs and power restoration are within the authority and responsibility of PLN. TMD’s Electrical Officer will keep track of the event with PLN in order that residents are given updates when the power is expected to resume after the PLN work has been performed.
Power disruption can be caused by several issues as follows:•
Internal/System error: disruption of the system, for example, power overload, the age of the equipment or electrical components, excessive voltage in electrical equipment that cause insulation damage and impaired stability.
•
External error: disturbances that come from outside of the system, such as natural and weather factors, caused by fallen trees, lightning, earthquakes, floods, animal activity or motor vehicle accidents.
•
Human error: These disorders are caused by operator error in the field, which is not in accordance with established procedures.
When power goes out only at your house, while the neighboring houses electricity stays on, try checking your MCB first. When the MCB switch changes position from 'on' to 'off', you only have to return it to the 'on' position. However, if the switch drops back to 'off', most likely an overload has occurred beyond the MCB capacity, also known as short circuit. Other possibility is the operation of damaged and burned electronic equipment.
Be prepared and know what to do when the power goes out. If you still need assistance, contact TMD 24 Hours’ Emergency at 08001900911.
