Just like in the residential areas, owners or business managers responsible for the commercial entity must inform and coordinate with TMD on the event they plan to hold within their commercial premises.

The permit application and the process is similar like applying the event permit in residential area. (See http://www.lippovillage.com/TownManagement/NewsLetterDetail/560).

Here are the points you should be consider when applying for the event permit in a commercial area:

1) Number of guest/ visitors, if the number of guests using the vehicles exceeds the capacity of the parking area, TMD will suggest the nearest public carpark for parking location. No vehicles are allowed to park on the road verges to prevent road congestion.
2) If the location is in high density area with high traffic zone, additional Security Officers must be arranged.
3) Installation of promotional materials related to the event must be placed at TMD’s promotional location in accordance with TMD regulations. Do not install any promotional banners using bamboo or tie banners on the fence as this will reduce the aesthetics and quality of your business area.
4) Tents may be installed at certain areas. If your business is located in a shop house and the tent can only be installed in the parking area, please inform your neighbors as a courtesy and in order they can anticipate for other parking options. Be tolerant and considerate. Do not allow the tent that you have set up block or close the access in and out of other business units.

With good coordination, it is expected that your event can be held smoothly without causing any disruption or inconvenience, both for the owner and other residents or other business owners.
