You may be familiar now with regular notifications from TMD via WhatsApp or Email informing on TMD’s cleaning program of the water distribution pipe in Lippo Village.
What happens and why is it necessary? The water distribution pipe cleaning program is one of TMD’s routine programs to maintain the water quality distributed to the residents. It is necessary to periodically drain the water pipes. Draining of the pipes can be done through the pillar hydrants, installation of drain pipes (wash out) placed throughout the distribution areas, as well as through the home connection (to clean the micro-area).
The activity is either scheduled or incidental if we find during the daily quality checking results, an indication of change in quality that exceeds the limits accepted by the consumers. If it is a scheduled program usually the work is carried out about 2 hours and up to 6 hours.
During the work, there might be temporary water supply disruptions to your house, such as:1) decreasing water pressure; or,
2) changes in water quality.
TMD provides on standby a water truck that can supply you with additional clean water for emergency use. Please call our 24 Hours (Toll Free) Emergency Number: 0800 1900 911. For scheduled maintenance, we recommend that you store water in containers for your use.
Before the maintenance work is carried out, close the tap at the water meter until the work is completed and water supply is back to normal conditions. Flush the water before use.
