Protect Your Property. Prevent Flooding.

Post Image Paving your front yard or having a roof over it for your vehicle is just as necessary as enjoying your roof terrace perhaps in the backyard. Just remember to leave sufficient green area to give you coolness and enough planting for shade. Hard surfaces reflect heat from the sun and significantly reduce the capacity to absorb rainwater, allowing it to run off the street.

Lippo Village has an excellent drainage system designed to take in a calculated amount of rainwater absorption from each lot and excess runoff. But as the city continues to grow and more homes are adding paved driveways and terraces, excess runoff happens during a heavy rainfall. Although our town’s drainage system is maintained well and our Infrastructure team ensures that these are not clogged with leaves or dust, excess runoff can still happen and may cause flooding.

Let us prevent flooding from happening.

Good home design should not be dominated by paved areas. It should have the availability of green open land for water absorption. Check on TMD’s guidelines for total ground coverage including the materials used, when building a new home or even upgrading your existing home. There are limitations and for the sake of our environment and to prevent flooding, TMD asks for everyone’s cooperation to observe these guidelines.

You can use a grass block known as grass paving which has a similar function as a paving block for your new parking space. It gives the much needed cavity that can be planted with grass so the water or rainwater can be easily absorbed and reduces water flow and do not strain the drainage system. Grass paving gives an attractive parking space for your car and it can also reduce air pollution, keeping the temperature down. It is a good alternative for protecting your property from causing runoffs and floods.

Think about it! We need more water absorption to conserve the groundwater resources.
