UPH won 23rd National Rank in the 2018 GreenMetric UI Ranking.

Univesity of Pelita Harapan (UPH) successfully ranked 23 out of 66 national universities and 451 out of 719 world universities in the UI GreenMetric 2018 ranking, an internationally recognized university ranking system based on environmental sustainability criteria. The evaluation criteria include Setting & Infrastructure (ratio and amount of green land in the university area), Energy & Climate Change (efficient use of energy and use of renewable energy), Waste (waste treatment), Water (water treatment), Transportation (provision of mass transportation in campus and other efforts to reduce pollution from vehicles), and Education & Research (ratio and number of courses and student organizations focused on environmental care).

From the aspects of Setting & Infrastructure, as well as waste and water management, the UPH campus has been prepared since its inception and supported by infrastructure in the Lippo Village, Karawaci, Tangerang. UPH designed the campus with the concept of green campus, where the campus area is dominated by green and shady parks, creating a safe and healthy environment, and conducive to learning as well as for activities.

Students at UPH are also invited to actively care for the environment through activities that foster a passion for environmental love. As a community service project coordinated by the student department, including those that have been carried out planting 3,000 mangrove seedlings in Marunda Beach, North Jakarta. Holding Mapala Student Activity Unit (UKM) (group of students who loves nature) who regularly conducts nature exploration activities.

UPH continues to improve aspects of the green campus, as a responsibility to the environment as well as to the community. The 23rd position nationally and 451 worldwide encourages UPH to continue to grow and focus more on providing green space, as well as conducting more in-depth research in the field of environmental conservation, in order to create a healthy campus for all students and the public.
