Children are our future and starting them young and early to learn about our world today and how to take care of it will have a great impact on the future of our planet and future generations.
Grade 3 Students from Sekolah Pelita Harapan (SPH) Lippo Village accompanied by their teachers recently went on a field trip to the Lippo Village North Water Treatment Plant on Thursday, October 3, 2019. This was part of their learning program on Water and How to Use Water Wisely. The SPH teachers know that teaching the students early on the value of water will influence them as they grow and become responsible adults, to be more aware how scarce and important this resource is and to form daily habits to conserve water, essential to their life.
The students were given an educational tour of the Water Treatment facility and was shown the process of the water being treated at the plant to become potable, meeting the highest standards established by the World Health Organization and distributed to residents, institutions and commercial entities of Lippo Village.
With the visit to the Water Treatment Plant, it is expected that the students can have a greater understanding and appreciation of water and start conserving water with simple daily habits like turning off the tap while soaping their hands or while brushing their teeth. They can also remind other family members to do the same in conserving water and taking small steps that will make a huge difference towards water sustainability and positive impact on the only planet we have – Earth.
Inspire our children, for a better tomorrow!
