There are precautions one must take during this season as the grass, leaves, tree barks and branches gets drier and may pose risks and hazards for fire. Stay aware and do not do anything that may cause a fire to happen.

Learn the following safety advice that can prevent most fires from happening.

Wildfires
Dry ground in the summer means there's an added risk of a fire starting. Follow these tips to reduce the chance of a wildfire if you are traveling around Lippo Village:
  • Don't leave bottles or glass in open areas - sunlight shining through glass can start fires (take them home and recycle them).
  • Extinguish cigarettes properly and don't throw cigarette butts on the ground - take your litter home. Never throw cigarette ends out of car windows.
  • Don't attempt to tackle fires that can't be put out with a bucket of water - leave the area as quickly as possible; call Emergency.

Be aware!
  • Do not fill your fuel tank completely full during hot weather. Fuel must have room to expand.
  • One of the biggest dangers is people using flammable liquids to light the barbecue. Please prepare well in advance and light the charcoal early or better, use an electrical barbecue grill. Only use barbecues in a suitable and safe area and never leave them unattended.
  • If you see a fire around your house or its surrounding in Lippo Village area, immediately call the 24 Hours’ Emergency Number 0800 1900 911. Ask for the Fire and Rescue Team even for a small fire as it can very soon become a big fire and get out of control. TMD has a Fire Brigade Department who are always on standby, do routine exercises and will be there right away whenever you need help.
  • Report immediately as you can save someone’s life.
